ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Einstein Fellows Research Group at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, funded by the Wissenschaftsfreiheitprogram of Einstein Foundation Berlin, is currently composed of nine scholars each with a background in critical academia in Turkey. The research focus of the group is twofold: Four researchers are affiliated with the Berlin Institute for Integration and Migration Research (BIM) and work on forced migration and diasporas. Five scholars who are affiliated with the Department of Social Sciences (ISW) and the Integrative Research Institute Law & Society (LSI) focus their research on rising authoritarianism in Turkey. With their academic expertise on Turkey, the Einstein Fellows Research Group is a valuable contributor to another one of the Center’s pillars: Contemporary Turkey Studies. Its research findings are regularly presented and discussed at jointly organized lecture series, panels, and workshops.
