Aydin-Cakir received her PhD in Political Science from Sabanci University (Turkey) in 2012. Between 2014 and 2019 she worked as Assistant Professor of Political Science at Yeditepe University, (Turkey). In 2017 she has been awarded with the Young Scientist Award (BAGEP) by the Science Academy in Turkey. After receiving Re:Constitution fellowship, in 2020 she has worked at Montaigne Center (Utrecht University-School of Law) as Re:Constitution fellow. In 2021, she has been visiting researcher at ERI Program (Utrecht University-School of Law). Since 2021, Aydin-Cakir is Senior Lecturer at Political Science and Public Administration Program at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Her research interests focus on judicial politics, comparative political institutions, public opinion and authoritarian regimes. Her studies were published or forthcoming in various journals such as Journal of European Public Policy (JEPP), Political Research Quarterly, International Political Science Review, Law&Society Review, Democratization, International Journal of Constitutional Law (ICON), and Global Constitutionalism.
